Acupuncture
Acupuncture’s beginnings in China date back 5,000 years. In traditional Chinese medicine, the body is viewed as a whole entity with
each organ possessing its own individual energy and interrelated with every other organ. There are certain points located in different
areas of the body that are associated with the energies of each of the 12 major organs and the channels connecting these points provide
a cohesive web of communication throughout the body. When there is an excess or deficiency of the energies, there can be accompanying
heat or cold on the exterior or interior of the body, which can produce a physical disorder. With thin, sterile (one-time use) needles
inserted at specific points, in specific order, at a specific depth and angle, a correction is made in the body’s energy flow and the
conditions are created for the body to naturally re-balance and heal itself.
